Vodafone to scrap the lovely Windows Mobile smartphone, the HTC HD2

HTC's fantastic WM mobile, the HD2, may no longer be provided by Vodafone if current stories are to be believed.

This phone has only been around for a few weeks and a company spokesman let us know that their initial stock of the smartphone flew of the shelves in record time, but reports now suggest that the firm is already plotting its removal from its high-end line up.

company sources believe that Vodafone will be halting the supply of the smartphone in within weeks as a fresh range of smartphones, most notably the iPhone, will become the highlighted offerings in its montly deals.

The company spokesman went on to say that Vodafone would be providing the widest range of mobiles possible to users over the coming few months, which suggests that the launch of the iPhone will result in the HD2's place being filled by the hugely popular Apple device.

The HTC device has received a positive response from the technology press thanks largely to its giant multi-touch sensitive LCD and wafer-thin design.
